Yes. Your privacy and security are top priorities. Here's how we protect your data:

  • Encryption at rest: Sensitive data (dietary info, account details) is encrypted using AES-256
  • Encryption in transit: All communication uses TLS 1.2+ with certificate pinning
  • Secure storage: Credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain, never in plain text
  • No selling: We never sell your personal data to third parties
  • Anonymized analytics: We may share aggregated, anonymized data for research and improvement

Your first month is completely free. After that, the subscription is $12.99/month. All features are included:

You can cancel anytime—no commitment, no questions asked. There are two ways to cancel:

  • In the app: Open Hestia → Settings → Account → Subscription → Manage Subscription → Cancel
  • Through the App Store: Open Apple App Store (or Google Play) → Account → Subscriptions → Hestia → Cancel Subscription

Your cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You'll keep Premium access until then. We don't offer refunds for partial months, but you can always resubscribe later.

The Pantry feature (Premium only) helps you keep track of what you have at home and reduce food waste:

  • Add items manually: Enter ingredients with quantity and expiration date
  • Scan receipts: Upload photos of receipts; we'll extract items automatically
  • Barcode scanning: Scan supported product barcodes to add pantry items quickly

  • Recipe suggestions: Our AI suggests recipes using ingredients already in your pantry
  • Smart removal: When you use an ingredient in a meal plan, the pantry updates automatically

The price comparison feature helps you find the best deals:

  • Estimated pricing: List costs start with national averages when store-specific pricing is unavailable
  • Smart recommendations: We suggest cheaper alternatives for items in your shopping list
  • Store planning: Compare supported stores and improve accuracy as you shop and scan receipts
  • Price history: Track price trends over time as Hestia learns your stores
  • Savings tracking: Calculate how much you save by following our recommendations

Important: Prices are estimates based on available data and may vary by location and time. Always verify prices at the store before purchasing.

Yes! With Premium, you can share meal plans and shopping lists with family members:

  • Create a household: Go to Settings → Household → Invite Members
  • Invite family: Send invites by email or share a join code
  • Sync planning: Everyone sees the same meal plan and shopping list
  • Shared pantry: Track inventory together (great for roommates or families)
  • Individual preferences: Each person's dietary needs are considered in the group plan
